Runway 18L/36R is the main runway of this airport, which was reserved for military purposes at the beginning. But because of the increased passenger pressure, it is now used for domestic airliners too. Last year a second runway opened for international flights. Around 28 airlines operate domestic and international flights from Busan Airport. Among them only five airlines use the main runway. Other airlines use the new international terminal. Busan airport is also the main hub for Air Busan, which operate flights to Cebu, Hong Kong, Macau, Taipei, and Fukuoka.
