Budget car rental services are available at the Fuerteventura airport; however the counter at the airport is in partnership with Avis car rental. So once the travelers have come out from the baggage claim area they should proceed to Avis car rental counter to avail services of Budget car rental. The rental counter is inside the terminal at the airport and the cars can be picked up from next to the terminal. The cars are collected from the Avis car rental counter, they even accept bookings on behalf of Budget car rental. The location code for the airport to make a booking is “FUE”.
The minimum age of a driver renting the car is 23 years, there is no maximum age. However all drivers below the age of 25years are required to pay an underage fee of EUR 18. 59 per day. The same age limits are applicable to the additional drivers, if any. The charge for each additional driver is EUR 6.00 + rental tax.
A driver’s license is mandatory when renting a car, if a person’s driving license does not have a photo, he/ she has to submit another identification proof with a photo. The person should have held the driver’s license for at least a year to be allowed to rent a car. All international drivers are required to have a license from their country of residence and an international license, this requirement is mandatory as per the Spanish law.
