Frankfurt is one of the busiest airports in Europe and caters to most international destinations all over the world, with a total of 275 destinations across 111 countries. At Frankfurt airport the number of scheduled flights in a day is about 1250.
There are two terminals at Frankfurt airport, Terminal 1 & Terminal 2. Terminal 1 has two concourses and 3 levels. There is an underground level, which has the multilevel parking and the regional train station. Ground level has baggage claim area and arrivals and the upper level has all the check-in counters and departures. Lufthansa with its Star Alliance partners operate from Terminal 1. Terminal 1 is 420 meters long and has 103 gates, with 54 having jetways. It is connected to Terminal 2 via a continuous concourse stretching between the two. There is also Sky Line for passengers to move quickly between them. Terminal 2 has a total of 42 gates, 34 stands and 8 with jetways.
Budget car rental services are available at both terminals 1 & 2. You can find it at the arrivals level (ground level) of Terminal 1 and at arrivals level of the D section of Terminal 2. Budget’s car rental services can be availed from the Avis car rental counter at the airport at both the terminals. The cars are available in the parking lot right next to the terminal, so there isn’t much of a walk. Budget’s Fastbreak service is not available at Frankfurt airport.
